Home Grown Hops!

A friend and co-worker of mine, whom we shall refer to as Bryce (because that’s his name), also happens to be a novice horticulturalist and craft beer enthusiast. Bryce is also a Narbrew Superfan, and has agreed to donate fresh picked hops from his upcoming fall harvest for use in some delicious Narbrew beer. At this point the most promising are a strain of Sterling hops. Sterling hops are an American strain grown to be a replacement for Czech Saaz hops, which have a mild, earthy, spicy, herbal quality, and are popular in Pilsners and various Belgian ales. We have not decided what style we will brew with these hops, but I am very excited about the idea of brewing a fresh ‘Wet Hop’ beer! More info to follow…
